A Liverpool Hope student who was found dead in her halls of residence after a night out died of meningitis, tests have confirmed.

Alisha Bartolini, 18, a first year student was found collapsed inside her student flat in Taggart Avenue, at Hope Place Campus in Childwall, on Saturday, November 1.

Ms Bartolini, who was from Wigan and studying marketing, media and management, had been out in Liverpool city centre the night before at a Halloween event at Medication nightclub on Wolstenholme Square.

Today, police confirmed forensic reports into the death were completed. The cause of death had been previously unknown and had been shrouded in mystery, concerning the student community as a whole.
